# Matrix report data and output declarations

The renderer now requires `HOST --data-dir INPUTS`. TSV, templates and host
notes belong to that declared directory. `--output-dir` selects generated pages;
the default follows the session build root's `load-reports`, or the owning
harness's `target/load-reports`. Bad inputs refuse before replacing a prior
page. Separate v4 output preserves a retained historical archive and leaves
all declared input bytes unchanged. Rendering adds no report or timing grade.

All eleven existing functions retain AST-identical bodies except
`atomic_write`, which creates the requested output directory. Numeric/status,
qualification, response-tail, CV and v3/v4 rendering rules are unchanged.
Original source/host commentary and retained-template tests are preserved under
`internal/bench/load/matrix-inputs-originals-20261003/`, pinned to source
`c3643ecf35b2`. The active retained-template suite lives privately and receives
explicit data/output arguments; all existing assertions remain active.

## Checks and retention

Local **65 tests plus 325 subchecks pass, zero skips**. This includes every
committed matrix page matching its generator output, synthetic failure/status
and response-tail checks across retained templates, v3/v4 separation and a new
separate-output test preserving the historical page and all source input bytes.
The initial new synthetic notes fixture omitted required front-matter markers;
its two failures and 62 passes remain retained. The corrected fixture uses
normal markers without changing renderer requirements or original assertions.

Source **ab7752dccdd7** is preserved on
`s/codex-fullbench-matrix-inputs-source-20261003`. Its complete **739-file** flat
archive retains Git modes and passes help, missing-data refusal and **six public
CLI tests plus two subchecks, zero skips**. Tests use synthetic records, including
space-containing paths, declared and default output roots, bad host/directory,
invalid status and previous-output preservation. All archive source bytes/modes
remain identical; disposable materialization is removed after verification.

Sealed evidence lives at `~/archive/libhft/matrix-inputs-20261003-ab7752dccdd7`
and in [repository evidence](evidence/matrix-inputs-20261003/SHA256SUMS).
A final comment-only integration moves the remaining historical hardware-epoch
facts out of active source; original facts remain preserved privately.
Readiness then selects **736 source files**, with **47 scrub findings in three
files**, 84 textual source-root escapes and zero dead documentation links.
SDK closure, physical/report qualification and standalone release admission
remain open. No network, SDK build, JVM/native benchmark or timing run is claimed.

After rebasing over concurrent main changes, **738 of 739** qualified archive
inputs remain byte-identical, all modes match, and the one renderer comment
change leaves the complete renderer AST identical. The integrated suite again
passes **65 tests and 325 subchecks, zero skips**; its input map and log are
retained beside the original generation.
